Reese Witherspoon, Jim Toth announce divorce
LOS ANGELES: Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon and her husband Jim Toth have reportedly called it quits after twelve years of marriage.
The couple made the announcement in a joint statement, on March 24. The Legally Blond (2001) star and her CAA talent agent husband married back in 2011. A source close to the couple has said “There is no drama”.

Sharing a statement on Instagram, the couple wrote: “We have some personal news to share… It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce”. The statement further read that the couple has shared “many wonderful years” but are now moving forward with “deep love, kindness and mutual respect” for the life they created.

According to E! News, the announcement of the “amicable” parting comes two days before the couple would have their 12th anniversary. The source added that the couple has made the decision with their child in mind. The pair share a ten-year-old son, Tennessee James Toth, whom they would be “co-parenting together” according to the source.
The Your Place Or Mine (2023) actor, 47, and Toth, 52, met in 2010. Recalling their first meeting as unexpected, Witherspoon said it “happened out of the blue”. In a 2012 interview with ELLE, the Big Little Lies star claimed Toth is “a really good person”.
The Water for Elephants (2011) leading lady was previously married to actor Ryan Phillippe, with whom she shares two children: Ava Elizabeth Phillippe, 23, and Deacon Reese Phillippe, 19.

Last year, the actress took to Instagram to celebrate her husband on the occasion of their 11th anniversary. She wrote, “I feel so lucky to share this wonderful life with you”. Likewise, on their 10th anniversary, she said, “I can’t believe it has gone so quickly”.
However, on March 24, the couple announced their decision to part ways. They wrote, “These matters are never easy and are extremely personal”. They requested the public respect their privacy at this time.
