Along with some health experts, a religious scholar was also invited over to guide us on religious matters. Mufti Riaz Jameel had a very thought-provoking conversation with Mubasher Lucman. He pointed out that just to keep yourself hungry and thirsty is not the objective of fasting. Talking about the obligation of fasting and its purposes, he explained that Allah wants his mankind to be pious and perform good deeds. Mufti Riaz Jameel, in response to a question, said that Allah Almighty has divided Ramadan into three segments, the first of mercy, the second of forgiveness, and the third of freedom from hell.
