‘Rehmat Hee Rehmat’: Main Objective of keeping Fast during Ramadan

Along with some health experts, a religious scholar was also invited over to guide us on religious matters. Mufti Riaz Jameel had a very thought-provoking conversation with Mubasher Lucman. He pointed out that just to keep yourself hungry and thirsty is not the objective of fasting. Talking about the obligation of fasting and its purposes, he explained that Allah wants his mankind to be pious and perform good deeds.
Mufti Riaz Jameel, in response to a question, said that Allah Almighty has divided Ramadan into three segments, the first of mercy, the second of forgiveness, and the third of freedom from hell. He explained that the first ten days are of mercy because man is so caught up in his sins that in order to turn him away from sins, Allah Almighty first embraces him with His mercy.

Mufti Riaz Jameel says that Allah’s mercy is so great that on the Day of Resurrection even the disbelievers will hope that Allah may have mercy on them and enter them to Paradise.
Pakistan’s famous singer Najam Sheraz also joined the transmission via video link from the UK. He said that Ramadan during quarantine seems very unique as one can spend maximum time with his Lord.

Najam Sheraz, referring to the social distancing in the UK, informed the viewers that in England people abide by this rule very strictly. Whether they are Muslims or Non-Muslims, people there are very particular to keep safe distance among them.
Najam Sheraz informed that he has improved himself a lot during the quarantine period and he prays to Allah most of the time which all Muslims should do during Ramadan.
Mufti Riaz Jameel suggested that we should give up at least three evils in this Ramadan. We should give up sins of ear, eye, and tongue to make our society devoid of evil sins.
