Religious tolerance displayed by Al-Khidmat Foundation amid COVID-19
Lahore, 1st April: Amidst the pandemic and lockdown imposed in the country, the situation is becoming very grim for the poor to survive under such conditions.
According to reports of Baaghi TV, a foundation in Pakistan has started the noble cause of distributing food among the poor and disinfecting the churches and the temples regardless of the religion.
The Jamaat-e-Islami Khidmat Foundation in Lahore has started delivering vegetables and meals to families affected by lockdown in the country.
Leader of the Jamaat-e-Islami, Ahmed Salman Baloch said that the foundation will deliver packets of vegetables to the poor from today, and so they delivered vegetables to 300 households. Vegetables like potatoes, spinach, tomatoes, turnips, peppers, onions, coriander, are included in a package. He added that 4,000 people are being served lunch every day.
During the campaign carried out by the Al-Khidmat Foundation, the churches and temples were being sprayed to disinfect the holy places so that people can pray without the fear of the virus.
The campaign started by the Al-Khidmat foundation is being much appreciated on the social media and Kapil Dev, a Hindu social worker in Sindh has tweeted on his Twitter handle, saying that disinfecting the temples and churches is an excellent step and a great example of religious tolerance.
Huge respect for Al-Khidmat, welfare wing of @JIPOfficial, for doing disinfectant spray in Mandir and Church. Lead by example of peaceful coexistence, interfaith harmony and pluralism!! #PakistanForAll #COVID19Pakistan pic.twitter.com/03hCSKLD3j

The campaign led by the foundation was also meant to send out the message of religious tolerance to the world. This noble task displayed that Islam is a religion of peace and security and Pakistan is a state built on the teachings of this religion. On the other hand, Modi’s India is a place where mosques and churches are being demolished.
At this time of need, everyone needs to be united on the same front as our fight is against one common deadly disease which is affecting the people globally irrespective of their religions, places, and status.
