Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Announces the First of Ramadan in Pakistan

Karachi, 23rd April: Pakistan Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meeting took place today in regards to a sighting of the Ramadan Moon.

According to Baaghi TV, the Committee could not see the Ramadan moon tonight, so it is decided by the mutual decision that tomorrow will not be the 1st of Ramadan. The first fast will be observed in Pakistan on the 25th of April.

The meeting was chaired by Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman, Chairman Central Rue-e-Hilal Committee, in which members of zonal committees were also present.

Sources said that the Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committee in Punjab has announced that the moon of Ramadan has not been seen anywhere in the province. The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has also been informed about this decision after which they made the final announcement. The meeting also included meteorologists and for the first time, a representative of the Ministry of Science and Technology was also present.

It may be recalled that the Ministry of Science and Technology had said yesterday that the month of Ramadan is not likely to be visible in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on April 23, while the Meteorological Department also said that the moon is unlikely to be visible on April 23.

According to the ministry of science and technology, the age of the moon will be less than twelve hours at sunset today, due to which the moon will not be visible tonight.

On the other hand, many Islamic countries, including Saudi Arabia, held their meetings today to observe the moon of Ramadan. Muslims all over the world including Saudi Arabia, Gulf, US, UK, Canada, and many others following the Saudi date for Ramadan will observe their first fast tomorrow.
