Lahore, 16t August: Russia says that Afghan President Ashraf Ghani fled the country with four cars and a helicopter full of cash and had to leave some money behind as all would not fit in.
According to details from Reuters, the Russian Embassy in Kabul claimed on Monday that President Ashraf Ghani fled from Afghanistan yesterday with four cars and a helicopter full of cash.
News agency RIA reported that Afghan president Ghani had to leave some cash behind as all of it was not fitting in the helicopter.

Nikita Ishchenko, a spokesman for the Russian embassy in Kabul reportedly said, “Four cars were full of money, they tried to stuff another part of the money into a helicopter, but not all of it fit. And some of the money was left lying on the tarmac.”
Ischenko cited witnesses as his source of information to Reuters, however, the international news agency was not able to confirm the authenticity of his reports.
Ashraf Ghani Flees to Tajikistan after Taliban clashes
Meanwhile, Ashraf Ghani, whose whereabouts are still not confirmed, left Afghanistan on Sunday after the Taliban entered Kabul. Ghani said that he wanted to avoid bloodshed, hence, fled away.
On the other hand, Russia has said that it will keep a diplomatic presence in Kabul and hopes to develop ties with the Taliban. Russia added that it is in no rush to recognize the Taliban as the country’s rulers and will closely observe their behavior.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s special representative on Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov said that it was unclear how much money the fleeing government would leave behind.
