Ashraf Ghani Flees to Tajikistan after Taliban clashes

As the Taliban has entered the gates of capital city Kabul, Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani has left the country along with his close aides.

According to the details, two sources have confirmed that President Ashraf Ghani has left the country for Tajikistan after the Taliban entered the city on Sunday.

Sources reveal that Ashraf Ghani has reached Tajikistan along with his close aides including cabinet members, generals and some other key political figures of the country. It is to be remembered that earlier today, acting defense minister Bismillah Mohammadi said that the president has handed the authority of solving the crisis in the country to political leaders.

It is believed that after 20 years, the Taliban have started re-entering the Afghan capital Kabul. The Afghan Interior Ministry has also confirmed that the Taliban are entering Kabul from all sides. According to foreign media, government offices in Kabul have been evacuated and the Taliban have taken control of all major highways leading to Kabul.

According to sources, the Taliban say that the Mujahideen do not intend to enter Kabul through war or force, and the Taliban are in talks with Afghan officials for a peaceful surrender of Kabul.

Meanwhile, reports from Kabul say that Ashraf Ghani has fled with his family and close aides, and his final destination is still unknown. However, according to Baaghi TV sources, he has reached Tajikistan, where he will hold discussion regarding the ongoing political situation in the country.

On the other hand, the British media has also confirmed that the ousted Afghan president has managed to escape and reach Tajikistan.
