PESHAWAR, Sep 30 (APP): Former Federal Minister, Saleem Saifullah Khan and the Honorary Consul General of Republic of Turkey showed their displeasure over the war that started between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

In their joint statement issued here, Saleem Saifullah and Consul General of Turkey were of the view that starting a war is easy but an end to it is much more difficult. They said that war is not a solution of dispute especially in such cases where the area for which they are fighting is universally recognised as part of Azerbaijan. They urged Armenia to end this war without any further delay keeping in view the peace of the region.

Salim Saifullah Khan appealed to the United Nations to come forward and intervene for stopping the war besides showing solidarity with Azerbaijan as Armenia has wrongfully captured the area of Azerbaijan which is internationally recognized as part of Azerbaijan. The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is an ethnic and territorial conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan over the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounding districts, which were de facto controlled by the self-declared Republic of Artsakh, but were internationally recognized as de jure part of Azerbaijan.

Saifullah Khan also requested Turkey and Russia for intervening and playing a role in immediate ceasefire.
