SBP’s reserves down by$223m to $17,622.7m

Lahore: State Bank of Pakistan (SBP)’s reserves have decreased by US$ 223 million to US$ 17,622.7 million as made external debt repayments and payments for the import of Covid-19 vaccine totaling US$ 245 million.
Lahore: The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at US$ 24,644.0 million on 06-Aug-2021.
Total liquid foreign reserves of the country stands at US$ 24,644.0 million.
The break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under: –
i) Foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan: US$ 17,622.7 million
ii) Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks : US$ 7,021.3 million
Total liquid foreign reserves : US$ 24,644.0 million
During the week ended 06-Aug-2021, SBP made external debt repayments and payments for the import of Covid-19 vaccine totaling US$ 245 million.
After accounting for other official inflows, SBP’s reserves decreased by US$ 223 million to US$ 17,622.7 million.
Earlier, Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves slightly fell by $22 million in the week ended July 30, the central bank reported on Thursday.
The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at $24.853 billion, compared with $24.875 billion in the previous week. The forex reserves of the State Bank of Pakistan increased by $16 million to $17.846 billion.
The reserves held by commercial banks declined to $7.007 billion from $7.045 billion a week ago.
