Suleman Raza paid tribute to his mother and team on his Twitter: “What an absolutely special win for Mirpur Royals – the most amazing match yet of Kashmir Premier League. I watched the match with my mother and I have no doubt that her prayers did the job. Congratulations to all the fans and the players for the love and dedication.”

Suleman Raza said he traveled from London to Muzaffarabad to be with his team.“I left behind a busy schedule and ensured to be with my team. Unfortunately, I was not able to be with my team for the first match due to our engagement with the UK government and some meetings related to Pakistan’s retention on the Red List.”

“I will be with my team throughout to encourage the players and to realize our dream of taking the trophy for our fans and our support bases in the UK, Pakistan, Mirpur and elsewhere. That’s the dream and the plan,” said Suleman Raza who is staying with his team in Muzaffarabad.

New form of Cricket aims to entertain the crowd

He said during the second thriller victory, there came a stage when it looked like the match has slipped away and Mirpurr Royals may not make it but then the prayers worked and there was a turnaround. I asked my mother that we can still win if she prays. I have no doubt that her prayers worked wonders.”

He said that the Kashmir Premier League (KPL) shows the potential for cooperation of nations and how this forum can be used to attain lasting peace.

Suleman Raja, who runs a chain of spicy Asian food with outlets across London, bought the Mirpur Royals team for the Kashmiri Premier League campaign to pay back to the country he originates from but also to send a message that Britain’s diversity encourages promoting equal opportunities, progress and talent.

Suleman Raza said that he was able to succeed in Britain because of the opportunities he was able to get through hard work and now is the time to pay back to both Britain and Pakistan.

Suleman Raza was speaking to this report after arriving in Azad Kashmiri from London to be with his team which has so far won two matches against their rivals after tough matches.

“For a British national like myself, investing in Mirpur Royals is aimed at investing in the Mirpur community in the UK and the vast Mirpuri community back home with strong ties to the UK. The beauty of the UK’s multi-culturalism is that it has help cement ties across the nations and continents like nowhere else in this world,” said the co-owner of Mirpur Royals who has been running his business in the UK for over 15 years.
