July 8, 2021:The Sindh government has enacted section 144 in the premises of examination centers, allowing the concerned station house officers to register complaints as well as take further necessary action against violators under the relevant provisions of the law.
According to a notification issued by Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Qazi Shahid Pervez, the Department of Universities and Boards of the Government of Sindh has informed that various boards of education have approached them regarding the peaceful conduct of SSC Part I and II. And HSSC Part I and II Annual Examinations 2021, and they have requested the implementation of Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CRPC) to declare the centers as restricted areas.
“The Government of Sindh is satisfied that necessary steps must be taken to conduct the examinations in a fair and peaceful manner and to maintain the sanctity of the examination premises during the examinations,” the notification said.
Therefore, the Government of Sindh, now exercising the powers vested in it under section 144 (6) of the CRPC, would thus declare all the premises of the examination centers for the aforesaid examinations under its own boards as limited to general areas. The public, except for candidates who have valid admission cards as well as staff on duty, and the immediate impact on the operation of photostat machines around examination centers and the use of mobile phones during examination hours. Exams are prohibited until the end of the above.
