ISLAMABAD, Sep 14 (Online Int’l): The Supreme Court has wrapped up illegal appointments in Sindh Reserve Police case for making it aware that action has been initiated by the Sindh government on this count. A 3-member bench of the SC presided over by the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Gulzar Ahmad, took up the case for hearing Monday.

Additional Advocate General Sindh told the court that Chief Minister Sindh punished the officers who were found involved in the case following the completion of inquiry into the matter. NAB has arrested Ghulam Nabi Kairiyo in illegal appointments case. His police job is still intact owing to award of the lesser punishment.

The CJP remarked why the most lesser punishment was given to Ghulam Nabi Kairiyo who played the main role. All the appointment letters were issued with the signature of Ghulam Nabi. Ghulam Nabi is still in the police department even after the case has been proved against him. CM Sindh retired low grade employees prematurely. It seems as if the illegal appointments were made with the blessing  of government. The action taken against the officers who were found involved a political stunt.

The court while directing the NAB to continue proceedings against Ghulam Nabi Kairiyo disposed of the illegal appointments in Sindh Reserve police case.
