Severe weather conditions expected in Pakistan

Lahore, 30th March: Severe weather conditions are predicted over the next 72 hours across the country with heavy rain/thunderstorm likely in most parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Sindh.

According to reports of Baaghi TV, there is a chance of hailstorm in different parts of the country from 100 mg to 200 mg. Rainfall and thunderstorms are likely to take place in all the districts of Punjab province especially the Southern Punjab.

In Punjab, the Dera Ghazi Khan Division will create a very low pressure on the mountain range of Koh-Sulaiman tonight which will wrap the entire Punjab over the next few hours, under which Dera Ghazi Khan, Fort Monroe, Maadi, Jampur, Fazalpur, Rajanpur, Mithankot, Rojaan, Chacharan Sharif, Alipur, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Khanpur, Sadiqabad, Lodhran, Multan, Melsi, Vehari, Borivala, Muzaffargarh, Khanewal, Sahiwal, Okara, Kabirwala, Kamalia, Maritime, Toba Tek Singh, Athara Hazari, Jhang, Shorkot Noorpur Thal, Khushab Joharabad, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Chiniot, Hafizabad, Malikwal, Phalia, Talla Gang, Kallar Kahar, Khewara, Chakwal, Mianwali Mandi Bahauddin, Jhelum, Gujarat, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Attock, Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Murree, heavy rainfall is expected in most areas from 50 to 75 mm and in some areas 100 to 150 mm.

Due to the persistent rains and clouds, the maximum temperature is likely to be below normal in 70 percent of the areas of Punjab, Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and temperature will remain below 15-degree centigrade.

In Balochistan, areas of Quetta, Sibi, Dera Bugti, Khuzdar, Mikhtar, Kohlo, Zhob, Harnai, Ziarat, and Barakhan will receive heavy rainfall. Temperatures may remain below normal at 20C in different areas of Balochistan.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Torkhum, Landi Kotal, Peshawar, Kohat, Charat, Bannu, Mardan, Swabi, Charsadda, Swat, Kalam, Dir, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, Waziristan will receive rain and thunderstorms.

In Azad Kashmir, Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Rawalkot, Mirpur, Kotli, Bhambar, Farid Kahuta may receive thunderstorms and snowfall is expected over the upper Neelum Mountains.

In Sindh, Karachi, Hyderabad, Badin, Thatta, Mithi, Kashmoor, Shikarpur, Sukkur, Larkana, Nawabshah, Dadu, Skrandh and Thar are likely to receive thunderstorms over the next 48 hours. Temperatures throughout the province are expected to be 10 degrees below normal.
