
The young left-arm fast bowler, Shaheen Shah Afridi, has reportedly broken the record for most wickets in a year, leaving behind former Cricket Captain and current Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan.
According to reports, Shaheen Afridi has managed to achieve a 78-wicket mark in a single year in Test Cricket, ODI, and T20, respectively. Afridi has reportedly achieved the target in 44 innings of 36 matches at an average of 22.

According to CricWick, a mobile app for cricket lovers, Afridi has joined the ‘elite group’ of pacers with his latest achievement, owing to an exceptional performance in the latest T20 tournament.

According to reports, former Pakistani cricketer Waqar Younis is the only one who has managed to achieve this feat twice.
Afridi has left behind PM Imran Khan, who managed to get 76 wickets in 1982. It is pertinent to note, that after a gap of nearly 30 years, a Pakistani pacer managed such a feat.
Waqar Younis was the last pacer to get most wickets in a year in 1993.
