Shahid Khaqan Abbasi blasts Shaukat Tarin’s budget speech
Lahore, 13th June: Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi blew up the recent budget speech made by Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin.
Baaghi TV: PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi while giving a press conference on Sunday said that Shaukat Tarin delivered the same budget speech which he made 12 years ago during the PPP era. There is nothing new in the budget.
He revealed that the country’s economy is below its 2018 level today. The Imran Khan government has imposed new taxes of Rs 1,200 billion on the people. The budget states that privatization will fetch Rs 252 billion.
Abbasi said that no income can be obtained between assets. He said that new taxes will not be levied. According to the budget document, there are 383 billion new taxes, 265 billion will be obtained from direct taxation.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that the government has not been able to increase exports despite devaluing the rupee. It is the first government in the history of Pakistan that is working by lying. The financial adviser should answer all the questions.
Rising prices of essential commodities will put a burden on the common man. 20 million people have fallen below the poverty line in three years.
Abbasi also said that in 2018 there was a tax of Rs 21 on ghee, Imran Khan’s state has imposed a tax of Rs 51, inflation has increased by 15%, however, the benefit in the budget has been given only to investors.
The PML-N leader said that the deficit of PML-N in the last five years was Rs 7,500 billion. The deficit in the last three years of the PTI government has exceeded Rs 10,000 billion.
