ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said in a press conference that he openly challenges Prime Minister Imran Khan to bring a case of corruption against him. According to Baaghi TV reports, former PM and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader, Khaqan Abbasi stated that Imran Khan has been blaming past governments for his incompetence.

He went on to say that for the last 3 years, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has been saying that governments of the past are responsible  for inflation and today, their own party members are forced to admit that PTI government has placed ordinary citizens in a difficult position.

“For the first time in the history of Pakistan, prices of petroleum products have risen by Rs. 12 ina single day. No other country in the world has recorded an increase in petroleum prices to this extent,” he criticised.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that during the tenure of PML-N, the nation never witnessed such an increase in electricity and petrol prices. In the last 2 months, electricity prices have gone up by Rs.8, which has never happened before. “Most corrupt people are sitting in the cabinet,” Abbasi revealed.

When asked about his remarks concerning Mohsin Baig incident, Abbasi said that his sympathy is with Murad Saeed and not Mohsin Baig because Murad Saeed is an elected member and his honour was raised. The former PM said that although Mohsin Baig will have to answer for breaking the law, no one has the right to torture a journalist and will have to answer for what he did. Ordinary people are being punished for the incompetence of the government, and the fact about rigging the 2018 elections has become as clear as crystal, he commented.
