Lahore, 8th August: Sindh government has announced the revised COVID-19 curbs amid the fourth wave of the pandemic, to start from August 9.
According to details, on Sunday, the Sindh government announced the revised COVID-19 restrictions for the province to kick off from tomorrow.
The new restrictions will start from August 9 and will last till August 31.
Sindh has decided to keep schools closed until August 19th
The following restrictions have been imposed in Sindh under the revised plan:
- Market and business activities may continue till 8 pm. This includes grocery stores, fish and meat shops, vegetable and fruit vendors, e-commerce and bakeries.
- Essential services are allowed to open longer, which include pharmacies, medical facilities, vaccination centers, petrol pumps, milk shops and tandoors.
- Indoor dining will not be allowed.
- Outdoor dining is allowed for a maximum of 300 people till 10 pm.
- Takeaway and home delivery are allowed 24/7, keeping in mind to follow all safety measures and that the staff and delivery personnel should be fully vaccinated.
- Indoor weddings are banned.
- Outdoor weddings will be allowed with a maximum of 300 guests till 10 pm with strict enforcement of safety protocols.
- Shrines will remain closed.
- Cinemas will also remain closed.
- Indoor gatherings, including cultural, musical, religious events are prohibited.
- Outdoor gatherings are allowed for a maximum of 300 guests.
- Contact sports will remain banned.
- Gyms to allow only vaccinated individuals.
- Offices to only call 50% staff to work.
- Public transport will run on sanctioned routes with 50% occupancy and its staff fully vaccinated. Snacks are not allowed onboard the vehicles.
- Railway services will continue with 50% occupancy, with the condition of enforcement of strict safety protocols and vaccination of all staff.
- Amusement parks, swimming pools and water sports facilities will remain closed.
- Public parks will remain open subject to following the safety measures.
- Tourism activities will only be allowed for vaccinated individuals.
- Domestic airlines will no longer serve meals or snacks on board.
- Wearing masks is mandatory in all public places.
Baaghi TV reported earlier that the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has announced to end lockdown in Sindh from August 9, 2021, however, new coronavirus restrictions will be implemented in Karachi and Hyderabad.

However, schools in the province will remain closed till Muharram 10 i.e August 19, in view of the rising incidence of coronavirus cases.
