LAHORE: The Punjab Home Department has ordered to seal off seven more areas of Lahore to curb the spread of Corona virus. Journalists, doctors and paramedical staff will be allowed to come and go.
According to details, the Punjab Home Department has sealed off areas to ensure implementation of SOPs. According to the notification, the sealed areas of Lahore include Gulberg, Model Town, Garden, Faisal Town, DHA, Gulshan-e-Ravi and inner city.

The notification further said that journalists, doctors and paramedical staff would be allowed to come and go, besides government employees, lawyers, pharmacy and grocery staff would also be exempted from the ban.
In addition, Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmeen Rashid has said that basic goods shops will remain open in the sealed areas, the main purpose of locking down seven more areas is to prevent corona, we are doing our best to keep the wheel running, Smart Lockdown aims to stop the spread of Corona.

She said that implementation of SOPs is our collective responsibility. In areas where corona cases are large, they are being fully sealed. In Punjab, 30 to 35% beds are available. Recovery of corona patients has reached close to 20,000. Public Sector have 250 high dependency units and 60 ventilators, thirty to fifty percent of the beds in hospitals are empty.

Dr. Yasmeen Rashid said that Corona will not end but it will definitely be less than the implementation of SOPs. She hoped that there will be less cases in the areas which will be closed.
