Lahore, February 18, 2021 (Sports Board Punjab, Press Release): On the direction of Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh, the Sports Board Punjab has released the rankings of all the divisions of Punjab after the Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Divisional Games.

  • Faisalabad Division came first with 790 points, Lahore Division came second with 708 points and Gujranwala Division came third with 285 points.
  • “The purpose of releasing the rankings of Punjab’s 9 divisions is to create an atmosphere of competition so that the players have a passion to move forward”, said Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh.

The first Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Division Hockey Championship was held from January 25 to February 9 and the five-game Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Division Open Championship was held from January 6 to January 9. In his statement on Wednesday, Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh said that the purpose of releasing the rankings of 9 divisions of Punjab is to create an atmosphere of competition so that the players have the enthusiasm to move forward. The performance of the division will be reviewed and further improved.

According to the rankings, Faisalabad Division came first with a total of 790 points, Lahore Division came second with 708 points while Gujranwala Division came third with 285 points, Sahiwal Division came fourth with 201 points and Sargodha Division came first with 170 points. Fifth, Multan Division finished sixth with 164 points, Rawalpindi Division seventh with 141 points, Bahawalpur Division eighth with 113 points and Dera Ghazi Khan Division ninth with 71 points.

In the first Quaid-e-Azam Inter Division Hockey Championship held from January 25 to February 9, Faisalabad Division came first with 150 points, Lahore Division came second with 100 points, Bahawalpur Division came third with 60 points and Sargodha Division came third with 40 points. Fourth, Multan Division is fifth with 20 points, Sahiwal Division is sixth with 10 points, Gujranwala Division is seventh with 6 points, Rawalpindi Division is eighth with 4 points and Dera Ghazi Khan Division is ninth with 2 points. The Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Division Open Championship was held from January 6 to January 8, with five sports championships, including tennis athletics, archery, badminton, cycling and tennis.

In archery, Faisalabad Division came first with 112 points, Gujranwala Division came second with 48 points, Lahore Division came third with 46 points, Rawalpindi Division came fourth with 39 points, Sargodha Division came fifth with 18 points and Multan Division also came third with 18 points. Sixth with points, Bahawalpur Division got seventh position with 9 points, Sahiwal and Dera Ghazi Khan divisions could not get any points, Faisalabad Division got first position in Athletics, Faisalabad Division got 235 points, Sahiwal Division got 188. Second with points and Lahore third with 161 points, Gujranwala fourth with 71 points, Rawalpindi fifth with 68 points, Sargodha sixth with 52 points, Multan seventh with 35 points, DG Khan eighth with 23 points and Bahawalpur third. Achieved ninth position with three points.

In Badminton, Gujranwala Division topped the list with 75 points, Lahore Division with 45 points, Faisalabad Division with 36 points, Rawalpindi Division with 30 points, Bahawalpur Division with 24 points and DG Khan. Division got sixth position with 6 points, Multan division got seventh position with 3 points, Sargodha and Sahiwal divisions could not get any point.

In Cycling Championship Lahore Division won first position with 265 points, Faisalabad Division second with 227 points, Gujranwala Division third with 67 points, Sargodha Division fourth with 60 points, Multan Division fifth with 28 points, DG Khan Division finished sixth with 22 points, Bahawalpur Division finished seventh with 8 points, Sahiwal and Rawalpindi divisions could not get any points.

In Tennis Championship, Lahore Division came first with 90 points, Multan Division came second with 60 points, Faisalabad Division came third with 30 points, Gujranwala Division came fourth with 18 points and DG Khan Division came third with 18 points. Fifth, Bahawalpur Division finished sixth with 9 points, Sahiwal Division finished seventh with 3 points, Rawalpindi and Sargodha divisions could not get any points.
