Students of Grades 9 to 12 can now get vaccinated against COVID-19

Lahore, 31st August: Students of grades 9 till 12 can start getting vaccinated against COVID-19 from tomorrow.

According to details, the Sindh government decided on Tuesday to give COVID-19 jabs to students from classes 9 to 12 starting from tomorrow, September 1.

A notification regarding the announcement was issued today by the health authorities in Sindh province. Hence, Sindh’s education department issued directives to relevant authorities to ensure all arrangements get in place before the vaccination drive begins.

Educational institutions reopened across Sindh

Meanwhile, the school authorities will get in touch with the parents of the students to get their permission for vaccinating the children.

It may be noted that yesterday, the Sindh government took an important decision to start COVID-19 vaccination in the educational institutions from September.

The decision was finalized in a high-level session jointly chaired by the provincial health and education ministers today. The session was also attended by the parliamentary health secretary, education secretary and other senior officials via video link.

Accoridng to reports, the decision includes that vaccination drive will begin in government and private schools from September 6 and that 1,400,200 students of Grade 9 till 12 will be vaccinated in the schools and colleges.

Sindh Government Extends Closing of All Educational Institutes

It is being told that the immunization program will be completed in phases and 2,527 teams of the provincial health department will take part in the COVID-19 vaccination in schools and colleges.

It is to be noted that the schools, colleges and universities across Sindh have reopened after the closure of over a month due to an increase in coronavirus cases.
