According to Baaghi TV, a case registered by the Pakistan Girl Guides Association (PGGA) was heard in the Supreme Court against Commissioner, Rawalpindi.

The Supreme Court has suspended a bill for payment sent by Commissioner Rawalpindi for 415,000/- per month to PGGA’s Rawalpindi headquarters. The court has directed Additional Advocate General Punjab, Faisal Chaudhry, to take charge from Commissioner Rawalpindi.

The court issued the order against that the commissioner, on a contempt of court petition. Lawyer Ayesha Hamid said that the Girl Guides Association has 6 offices across the country, 415,000/-. Commissioner Rawalpindi sent a bill to pay the dues of Rs. 12 lakhs separately.

Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed asked why so many bills were sent. Are any commercial activities taking place in the Girl Guides office? Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan remarked, “Where does the Girls Guide Association get its funds from?”

The Supreme Court adjourned the hearing of the case indefinitely.

It should be noted that Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid and his nephew Rashid Shafiq had demolished the wall of the Girl Guides headquarters in Rawalpindi to for an evacuation. A contempt of court case was filed against them by the Girl Guides because the Supreme Court had ordered the land be used by the PGGA on a 99-year lease.
