Afghan women will continue playing cricket: chairman ACB

Sept 9, 2021: The Taliban have decided to ban the Afghan women’s cricket team.

According to a report by a foreign news agency, Taliban leader Ahmadullah Waqas says that all kinds of women’s sports will be banned in Afghanistan, while the International Cricket Council (ICC) has expressed concern over the decision to ban Afghan women from playing cricket.

The ICC says women should be allowed to play cricket, and is constantly monitoring the situation in Afghanistan. They said that not allowing women to play cricket would have a negative impact on the game. The issue of not allowing women will be discussed in the next meeting.

The Taliban, on the other hand, have allowed women to continue their education in colleges and universities. But it has been deemed be necessary to cover their whole face except the eyes.

According to a notification from the Taliban’s Ministry of Education, only female students can teach female students. However, if this is not possible, then an old man of good character should be hired for the job. The number has grown exponentially since the end of the Taliban’s first term in office since 2001, and preparations are under way to reopen it tomorrow.

According to the orders, women are not required to wear a shuttlecock burqa (a veiled garment covering the hair from head to toe), but women who go out of the house must wear a niqab in which only their eyes are visible.

Meanwhile, Australia has announced that if the Taliban do not allow the Afghan women’s team to play cricket, Cricket Australia will not host Afghanistan’s men’s team for the only Test scheduled from November 27.

The Australian Cricket Board said on Thursday it would end a planned Test match against Afghanistan’s men’s team if Afghanistan’s Taliban rulers did not allow women to play.
