The US embassy wrote, “The U.S. Embassy does not endorse the posting or retweeting of political messages. We apologize for any confusion that may have resulted from the unauthorized post.”
It may be recalled that Federal Minister Shireen Mazari had demanded an explanation or apology from the US embassy for retweeting Ahsan Iqbal’s tweet and said that the US embassy has not yet come out of Trumpian mode, the embassy is interfering in domestic politics in support of the convicted fugitive.
This not good enough esp after great delay! Account was clearly not hacked so someone who had access to it used it "without authorisation". Unacceptable that someone working in US Embassy pushing a particular pol party's agenda – has serious consequences incl staff visas scrutiny https://t.co/IWqYtRjVna

Mazari said that the US embassy should follow the principles of diplomacy. If the retweet is fake, then clarify. If not, the embassy should apologize.
On the other hand, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, while reacting to the retweet of the US embassy, had said that it is completely ridiculous, how can the US embassy retweet against the Prime Minister, it contains insulting remarks, it is against diplomatic protocol.
This is utterly absurd, how can u @usembislamabad retweet against our PM @ImranKhanPTI containing derogatory remarks? This is against diplomatic protocols. An apology is needed with immediate clarification if fake or hacked. @ForeignOfficePk must take required action. pic.twitter.com/2BoVmrdVp8

Imran Ismail said that with an apology, it should be clarified that this account is fake or hacked and the Foreign Ministry should take immediate action on this matter.
It may be recalled that the US embassy was seen playing a key role in advancing the N-League agenda. The US embassy endorsed the tweet of PML-N’s Ahsan Iqbal against PM Imran Khan and shared the message after which social media users have demanded an apology for this heinous act.
