TikTok ‘never shared’ data with Chinese authorities: CEO

Shou Zi Chew, CEO of TikTok, reportedly informed US (United States) legislators that the video-sharing app has “never shared” data of its American users with the Beijing administration, amidst rising concerns the Chinese app would be banned in the country.  According to reports, in a written testimony shared by the House Committee on Tuesday, the Chew is set to testify in court on Thursday. Addressing the issue of a possible data leak, Chew said that the TikTok app has “never shared, or received a request to share, US user data with the Chinese government”.
