ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s petition against the accountability court proceedings has been fixed for hearing.
According to details, a petition against declaring PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif a fugitive in the Toshakhana reference has been fixed for hearing.
A two-member bench headed by Chief Justice (CJ) Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Athar Minallah has been constituted. CJ IHC and Justice Amir Farooq will hear the petition on August 15, 2020 (Monday).
Barrister Jahangir Jadoon will appear in the court on behalf of Nawaz Sharif. The High Court Institution Branch allotted number 2211 on writ petition.
PML-N leader has challenged Toshakhana reference in Islamabad High Court. Nawaz Sharif has challenged the accountability court order. The accountability court has given Nawaz Sharif one last chance to appear. If he does not appear on August 17, it will be decided to declare Nawaz Sharif a fugitive.
It may be recalled that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had decided to seize the vehicles of former President Asif Ali Zardari and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the Toshakhana reference.
