Toshakhana Reference: As soon as the summons was issued, Nawaz Sharif fell ill again

According to the report of Baaghi TV, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has approached the Islamabad High Court in the Toshakhana reference.

Nawaz Sharif challenges accountability court order in Islamabad High Court. Nawaz Sharif in a petition filed in the Islamabad High Court said that the proceedings of the accountability court, the order to issue the advertisement should be declared null and void. He said that overseas treatment of his is still going on and he should be allowed to face trial through representative.

Earlier, a summons of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was issued in the Toshakhana reference. An advertisement of Nawaz Sharif’s summons was posted in public places. The accountability court says that Nawaz Sharif is deliberately fleeing from the court proceedings.

Nawaz Sharif has been given one last chance to reply in Toshakhana reference till August 17. Former President Asif Ali Zardari’s arrest warrant has been sent to NAB in Toshakhana reference. Bail arrest warrants have been issued for Asif Zardari with 50,000 bail bonds.

The accountability court has said that if Asif Zardari did not appear with the bail, he should be arrested and produced

It should be noted that the court has also issued an arrest warrant for former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in this case. At the last hearing, the NAB told the court that it had obtained a complete record of Nawaz Sharif going abroad. The court should order action against Nawaz Sharif in accordance with the law. Nawaz Sharif’s summons can be advertised in a foreign newspaper. Nawaz Sharif lives in Avonfield Apartments.

During the hearing on the Toshakhana reference, the NAB informed the court that former President Asif Ali Zardari and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had illegally obtained vehicles from Yousuf Raza Gilani. Asif Zardari paid only 15% for the vehicles, and the money was paid through fake accounts.

According to NAB, Asif Zardari as President also received vehicles from Libya and UAE as gifts. Asif Zardari used the vehicles himself instead of depositing them in the treasury.

The court was quoted by the NAB as saying that Nawaz Sharif was not in any government post in 2008. Despite this, Nawaz Sharif was provided a government vehicle from the treasury without any request.

It may be recalled that in January this year, an executive board meeting chaired by NAB chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal approved a corruption reference against former president Asif, Nawaz Sharif and Yousuf Raza Gilani.

The accused are accused of distributing gift carts and ponies from the casino. Nawaz Sharif and Yousuf Raza Gilani have been questioned about the vehicles of Toshakhana.

It is to be noted that NAB is investigating the personal use of gifts in the Toshakhana case. In this regard, NAB had also investigated Nawaz Sharif in jail and had sought permission from the court for the same.

Investigating officer Raheel Azam, deputy director NAB, had requested the court to allow Nawaz Sharif to be interrogated as an accused. The car was gifted to the Prime Minister of Pakistan by Saudi Arabia in 1997. Yousuf Raza Gilani illegally gave Mercedes Benz to Nawaz Sharif in 2008. Nawaz Sharif should be allowed to be interrogated in jail. The NAB had questioned Nawaz Sharif in jail.
