
The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed full responsibility for the attacks on police officials performing patrolling duty in the Pir Wadhai area of Rawalpindi district late Monday night.
According to the details, unidentified armed motorcyclists opened indiscriminate fire on police officers who were performing their duty in the Pir Wadhai area of Rawalpindi district.
Police constable Khurram was killed in the attack while sub-inspector Manzoor Shehzad and constable Omar were serious injured in the firing. Taking note of the incident, Inspector General (IG) of Police Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan has taken notice and demanded a report of the incident while directing immediate arrest of the accused.

Baaghi TV has learnt that after the incident, the police officials have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation in which no arrest has been made so far.
However, it is worth-mentioning here that TTP spokesman Muhammad Khurasani has claimed full responsibility for the Rawalpindi as well as Bannu attack. In Bannu, a group of unknown people opened fire on a Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) official who was on a leave. Further reports of the incident have not been received as of now.
It is to be noted that this is the first attack by the TTP in Punjab since the end of the ceasefire.
