Two high military officers sentenced to death on spying allegations, one sentenced to 14 years imprisonment
Pakistani Army Chief General Qamar Javaid Bajwa has confirmed the sentence of two military officers and a civil officer.
ISPR told that the death sentence of Brigadier (r) Raja Rizwan, has been confirmed. Dr. Waseem Akram also has been sentenced to death. In two years, 400 officers of different rank have been convicted. In these two years, imprisonment punishment included dismissal from the job. Asad Durrani’s accountability also came under the same policy. Lt Gen (R) Javed Iqbal has been sentenced to fourteen years imprisonment.
Three officers have been convicted of spying. The perpetrators had leaked sensitive information to other countries. Army officers and civilian officers were convicted of spying. ISPR says that army officers, of any rank, are in the range of accountability of any rank.
