Nov 19, 2021: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has signed an agreement with a Pakistani company to purchase defense equipment worth over Rs 6.65 billion at the Dubai Air Show 2021.

UAE Defense Ministry spokeswoman Lt. Col. Sarah Hamad Al-Hajri confirmed that an agreement has been reached with Global Industrial and Defense Solutions, a Pakistani company, for the purchase of various weapons. The spokesman said that on the fourth day of the exhibition, seven major agreements worth 225 billion dirhams were signed.

In all, the UAE’s Ministry of Defence signed seven contracts in total during the Dubai Airshow 2021 on Wednesday. These seven contracts are worth Dh22.5bn in total.

The biggest deal at the air show was the purchase of ammunition and air defense systems for the Air Force from the American company Alliant Techsystems Operations, valued at more than 170 million dirhams.

Meanwhile, the US company Lockheed Martin also entered into an agreement with Global Inc. to provide technical assistance and purchase of spare parts for the Air Force and Air Defense Command systems.

A DH677.3 million was also contracted with Emirates International Technical Systems Trading to purchase aviation systems and equipment for the UAE Air Force and air defense. An agreement was signed with Abu Dhabi Airports Company for 108 million dirhams for a three-year ground handling and logistics support for the Air Force.

Al-Hajri announced that DH149.1 million has been awarded to the French aviation company Dassault Aviation and DH120.8 million has been awarded to Ammroc Advanced Military Maintenance Repair.
