Urban Kitchen: ‘Best Value for Money’ restaurant in town
Lahore, 8th October: Recently I visited a trendy cafe in Lahore by the name of ‘Urban Kitchen’, and found it worth mentioning on our website.
Urban Kitchen cafe is located in Gulberg Lahore. The price range of food served was 800-1500 rupees per person. They serve a variety of appetizers, main courses, desserts, and drinks.
They have seafood such as shrimps in appetizers as well as the regular onion rings, mozzarella balls, and fries, etc.
The main course is filled with chicken dishes such as Corden blue and parmesan chicken, with a range of pasta including mac and cheese and four cheese spaghetti as well.
For desserts, they have brownies and a Nutella bread and butter pudding as well.
They serve fresh juices in drinks along with the regular soft drinks like Pepsi and Fanta.
The staff is very professional and helpful, they are well trained and keep the place clean. What I liked was they had a Filipino manager, who was cordial and supervising the place immaculately.
They were making sure SOP’s were followed, with proper social distancing between the chairs and tables. The staff members at the entry were checking everyone’s temperature and sanitizing their hands. They didn’t let anyone in without a mask.
The place was decorated with dark colours giving it a warehouse vibe, they had paintings and pictures all over the place bringing it to life. The place was clean and tidy.
The food was very delicious! They presented the food quite well, Mac and cheese was served in a hot pan freshly baked, the cheese could be tasted in every bite and it was scrumptious, the only thing I felt was missing in it was the truffles.
Four cheese spaghetti was also served in a pan with garlic bread and had the same taste as the Mac and cheese, there was no difference in the seasoning of the two.
Corden blue was cooked perfectly and seasoned well, the serving size was just right and it was presented elegantly.
Parmesean chicken was served with spicy red sauce pasta that went well with the chicken.

However, I felt that the cafe lacked the proper finesse to its dishes, they could be added with more flavour.
The cafe also needs to add some new food items to their menu to stand out from other eateries in the city.
Overall my experience was good and it was worth the price.
