On Thursday, the Pakistani rupee faced ongoing pressure against the US dollar in the interbank market, reaching an unprecedented low of Rs 300. Information gathered from currency traders revealed that initially, the rupee gained 14 paisas during early trading. However, this positive momentum was reversed as the dollar strengthened, appreciating by 36 paisas.

This pushed the exchange rate beyond the significant Rs 300 mark for the first time in history. The rupee’s challenges persisted due to increased buying of the US dollar by importers, driven by a shortage in supply and continuously escalating demand.

Presently, the Pakistani rupee is being exchanged at the rate of Rs 300.

The preceding day, Wednesday, saw the Pakistani rupee closing against the US dollar at an all-time low of Rs 299.64.
