Uttar Pradesh: Kashmiri youth convicted on terrorism charges acquitted

Srinagar, Baaghi TV: A student belonging to Ramban district of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir has been released by Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad after giving a clean chit to Ramban following his arrest two months earlier.

25-year-old student Salman Khurshid Wani son Nazir Ahmad Wani, a resident of Bankot, Banihal Tehsil, Ramban District, was arrested on June 21, 2020 with the help of Ramban District Police. Salman Khurshid Wani and his parents are very happy with the fair investigation and verdict of Uttar Pradesh ATS and judiciary but they are disappointed and deeply saddened over the media trial and baseless negative propaganda against Salman Khurshid by the national electronic media. He said that without any investigation, the national media had leveled baseless allegations against Salman for anti-national conspiracy, terrorist activities and recruitment of youth in banned militant organizations.

Salman Khurshid Wani’s parents Nazir Ahmad Wani, Khaleda Begum thanked ATS Uttar Pradesh, judiciary and state police for the release of their son and expressed regret over the media trial conducted by the national media and said that the media Without any evidence, investigation, court proceedings and even before the truth came to light, Salman was declared a terrorist and a martyr, which is against the principles of journalism. He said that he has suffered a lot and his dignity in the society has been severely damaged which is difficult to repair.

According to South Asian Wire, the Uttar Pradesh ATS had registered a case against a person named Muhammad Inamul Haq for anti-national conspiracy and military activities. Earlier, Salman Khurshid came in contact with the man on social networking sites. Salman said that the arrested Mohammad Inam-ul-Haq had downloaded my photo from the websites and the Uttar Pradesh ATS summoned him for questioning.

However, the national media declared him a terrorist without any investigation and conducted a media trial. According to South Asian Wire, Salman’s parents had told the Uttar Pradesh ATS special team during the arrest that their daughter was not affiliated with any extremist organization. In fact, he has been suffering from mental illness for the last seven years.
