Uzair Baloch appears in court under tight security

Lahore, 7th July: According to the report of Baaghi TV, the anti-terrorism court has indicted Uzair Baloch, the leader of the Lyari gang war, in the case of kidnapping and murder of a businessman for ransom.

However, the accused Uzair Baloch has denied the charge.

Uzair Baloch, the ringleader of the Lyari gang war, was produced in court with his face covered and handcuffed under tight security. During the court appearance, the judge read out the indictment.

According to the indictment, Uzair Baloch is accused of kidnapping Abdul Samad for ransom and murder. The accused demanded a ransom of Rs 10 lakh and killed the abductee despite taking Rs 70,000. The judge asked the accused if he had pleaded guilty.

Uzair Baloch, who was present in the court, denied the charge. The court issued connotations to the investigating officer and witnesses on the denial of the accused and ordered to present the witnesses at the next hearing.

Rangers were heavily deployed in the anti-terrorism court at the Central Jail at the time of the accused’s appearance. Uzair Baloch’s brother Zubair Baloch and others have been arrested in the case and other accused have already been charged.

It may be recalled that Uzair Baloch was handed over to the police after his arrest by Pakistan Rangers Sindh in January 2016. After which, in April 2017, the army announced that they had detained Uzair Baloch on charges of ‘espionage’.

It may be recalled that Uzair Baloch is facing more than 50 cases in anti-terrorism and sessions courts, including the senseless murder of his rival Arshad Pappu.

The anti-terrorism court has been told that Rangers transferred Uzair Jan Baloch, head of the banned People’s Peace Committee, from Karachi Central Jail to Metha Ram Hostel Sub Jail due to alleged security concerns.

The information was provided in a letter submitted by the senior superintendent of the Central Jail in a case related to murder and terrorism charges in the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC-VXI). In 2013, a case of murder and terrorism was registered at the Pak Colony police station.
