Vaccination for people aged 50 and above to begin today

Lahore, 21st April 2021: With a concerning situation of the coronavirus in Pakistan, vaccination for people aged 50 to 59 have started from today across the country.

After the successful vaccination drive of elders aged 60 and above, last week the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) decided to start the vaccination process of people aged 50 to 59.

Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid has urged the people to get vaccinated amid the third wave of the pandemic. She added that people should be careful; to avoid the coronavirus and follow all safety measures.

Yasmin said that the COVID-19 vaccination process in Pakistan has been slow. More than two months have passed since the start of vaccination in the country.

She further informed that so far, 2 million people have not been vaccinated.

Adult vaccination centres have been set up across the country and the entire vaccination process will be controlled by digital mechanisms.

According to the latest reports, 189 vaccination centres have been set up in Punjab and 14 in Sindh. 280 vaccination centres have been set up in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 44 in Balochistan and 14 in Islamabad.

Vaccination is being carried out through 25 centres in Azad Kashmir and 16 centres in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Baaghi TV earlier reported that coronavirus is spreading rapidly in Pakistan, where 26 districts have been declared at high risk.
