Islamabad, 30th September: Vice Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi has been appointed as the new Chief of Pakistan Navy.

Baaghi TV: President Dr Arif Alvi on the advice of the Prime Minister has approved the appointment of Vice Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi as the Chief of Naval Staff.

He will assume the post of Chief of Naval Staff from October 7. Meanwhile, Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa thanked the Naval Chief for his outstanding services to Pakistan Navy.

Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi has called on the Chief of Army Staff. The Chief of Army Staff thanked him for his outstanding services to the Pakistan Navy.

Vice Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi started his service in 1985 by getting a commission in the Operations Branch of Pakistan Navy. He is a graduate of Army Command and Staff College Quetta, National Defense University Islamabad and Beijing University China.

Last year, four Rear Admirals of the Pakistan Navy were promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral, including Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi.
During the recent tensions with India, Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi commanded the Pakistani fleet. The Pakistani fleet tracked the Indian submarine in its territorial waters and the Pakistan Fleet under the command of Admiral Amjad Niazi forced the Indian submarine to flee.

Besides, Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi has also received an honorary sword from Pakistan Naval Academy. 

He was also the Chief of Staff Operations COSO and received Hilal-e-Imtiaz, Sitara-e-Imtiaz and Sitara-e-Basalat for his valuable services.
