“Happiness depends on ourselves,” according to Aristotle. Aristotle preserves happiness as a central purpose of human life and a goal in itself. Aristotle upholds happiness as the central purpose of human life and an end in itself. He believed that a truly happy life necessitates the fulfillment of various conditions, encompassing both physical and mental well-being.
However, the question here is, is the quantum of the broad range of conditions needed to be happy is equal for all hailing from different socio-economic backgrounds and different cultures? Most probably not.

When does effort to achieving the broad range of conditions needed to be happy is substituted by greed for more? In many cases, at expense of others? In this modern era, there are distractions like psychological pain or trauma, technology, the economic standard of work and education, and peers. All of these drain a person’s energy and loss the flow’s balance.
In my personal opinion, I agree more with Albert Camus. He once said, “You will never be happy if you continue to search for what happiness consists of. You will never live if you are looking for the meaning of life.” If we simply just carry on with our daily life happiness will evolve by itself after we find a balance.
Aristotle says if happiness were a habit or trained faculty. If that was true, all those endowed with richness’s of the world should be happy and all those who are not should be unhappy.

The question is what makes you happy? It will depend on multidimensional factors dealing with individual socio-economic backgrounds. Individual psyches.
If we pursue a long-termed goal to pursue happiness, we miss out on the happiness there for us to take on a daily basis. The first step taken by your child, the peace with your partner or alone, reading a book, listening to music, a mug of coffee in your hand? The smell of flowers as they raise their faces to the sun?
The pursuit of happiness is not an end goal. It’s a process.
