Whose advice led to Shoaib Akhter’s resignation?

LAHORE: Former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has revealed that his sister had advised him to leave the show after a heated exchange with state TV host Noman Niaz.

Speaking on a private TV program, Shoaib Akhtar said, “During the show, I received a message from my sister that you should not lower your honor any further. You are forgiving Dr. Noman but he is not apologizing, so get up and leave the show.”

Concerning the apology on behalf of Dr. Noman Niaz, Shoaib Akhtar said that he had apologized to Dr. Noman the night of the show, now he does not need it. Rather, now Dr. Noman has to apologize not to me but to PTV and the whole nation. I ended this story there that day. He should have apologized to me that night. It is of no use now, his behavior has caused damage to the state channel.

Shoaib Akhtar said, “I could have done something that night, but I did not do it and left the matter to the Almighty. I have to please Allah and His Messenger, not the servants and I am very grateful to my people who gave me so much love”.

Akhter went on to say that he likes to stay out of fights because his mother is very old. He added, “Whatever Dr. Noman says, I will not say anything on this issue”.
