Why Prime Minister Imran Khan took diplomatic officers to task: Fawad Chaudhry

May 7, 2021: BaaghiTV: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry has said that for the first time in the history of the country, the Prime Minister spoke directly to the ambassadors.
Fawad Chaudhry issued a statement in response to PML-N’s allegation that nothing was to be gained by taking ambassadorial staff to task. Talking to the ambassadors, the Prime Minister took notice of the attitude of an embassy staff towards women after reports of an incident emerged alleging improper behavior.
Fawad Chaudhry said that investigations are underway against the embassy staff, and that the country’s leadership will have to stand with its overseas workers, and stand against the elite if they are wrong. He said Shahbaz Sharif says talking about rights of the labor class is not important but if the government means to move the country forward, they have to uplift the poor. He said PML-N’s criticism of PM’s address to ambassadors is baseless.
Political parties should take a serious approach for electoral reforms, he said, adding that NA-249 is not a matter of recount, it is a matter of re-polling. Every vote has been tampered with in NA-249.
The Federal Minister further said that the Cabinet has approved the Journalists Protection Bill. Journalists will not be asked about the sources of news. Media owners will be bound by the life insurance of those reporting in War zones.
