ISLAMABAD: Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Muttaqi has said that the territory of Afghanistan will not be used against any country, including Pakistan.
Addressing an event in Islamabad during his visit to Pakistan, Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Muttaqi said that Afghanistan wants better relations with Pakistan. Muttaqi said that Afghanistan values cooperation from Pakistan on humanitarian grounds and is grateful to Pakistan for providing shelter to the Afghan people for the past 40 years.
As long as the Afghan refugees stayed in Pakistan, they were not harmed. There were more than 35,000 prisoners in the jails of Afghanistan. Today, there are no prisoners in the jails of Afghanistan. Today, educational institutions have been restored. Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Muttaki said human rights are being respected, we are ready to work on the reforms that the world wants to work on, in Afghanistan.
The world should come forward for constructive work in Afghanistan. No country can be persuaded by pressure, negotiation is the best measure. Afghans in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, or any other city are facing no problem. Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Muttaqi further said that after the arrival of the new government in Afghanistan, everything started from scratch. If there are economic and other problems in Afghanistan then the reason is that everything there has to start anew, but they want the development of Afghanistan. We want all countries of the world to help us build and develop Afghanistan. He added that women have the freedom to work in all Afghan institutions.
Earlier, Acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan Amir Khan Muttaki along with a high-level delegation comprising Acting Ministers of Industry and Trade besides Finance and Deputy Minister of Aviation called on Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi. According to reports, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi was accompanied by Aviation Minister Sarwar Khan, Finance Advisor Shaukat Tareen, Razzaq Dawood, and other senior officials.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi highlighted Pakistan’s continued efforts to provide humanitarian and economic assistance to Afghanistan in view of the dual challenges facing the Afghan people. Pakistan offered technical assistance in various fields and current relations. Additionally, Pakistan agreed to continue talks to strengthen and identify new areas of cooperation between the neighboring states.
Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaki thanked Pakistan for its continued support for a peaceful and stable Afghanistan and especially for hosting millions of refugees over the past four decades. He assured full cooperation in strengthening fraternal relations for the mutual benefit of the people of the two countries.
