Women’s Cricket Confirmed for CWG 2022

In the recent development, cricket is set to return to Commonwealth Games after a gap of 24 years, the organizers said on Wednesday.

According to reports of Baaghitv, after a gap of 24 year, cricket is set to return to Commonwealth Games, confirmed by the organizers. The organizers have included the Women T20 included in Birmingham 2022 mega event. Eight teams will play in the shortest format of T20 cricket in the commonwealth games 2022. The International Cricket Council has welcomed this development and termed it ‘a truly historic moment for women’s cricket and for the global cricket community’.

The beach volleyball and para table tennis have also been included in the Birmingham games 2022.

The 2022 Commonwealth games will take place from July 27 to August 7 and involve 4,500 athletes competing across 19 sports.
