Lahore: Lahore Police ensured a very ‘Peaceful and FIR Free Youm e Aashur’ as all the sacred programs were observed in peaceful manner in the provincial metropolis where comprehensive security arrangements were made by Lahore Police under the supervision of Capital City Police Officer Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar. The security of the capital was beefed up and remained high alert all the day as special check posts were made at different areas of the city to monitor and check the movements of the citizens and vehicles apart from Exit and Entry points of the city. Police officials checked persons and vehicles at these specially arranged check posts and Entry and Exit points to avoid any untoward situation. More than ten thousand Police officers and officials (approximately 12 thousands police personnel) performed duty to provide foolproof security to the mourners of majalis and processions as well as citizens. The main procession of Youm e Aashur brought out from Nisaar Haveli Mochi Gate, peacefully completed its more than 6.5kilometers voyage and ended at Karbala Gamay Shah after Maghrib prayer. All the streets falling on the routes of the main procession of Shabih e Zul’janah were completely sealed with bob wires, containers and barriers. The participants were checked thoroughly at entry points of the processions through a foolproof checking mechanism pertaining to four layer security mechanism. Snipers were deputed on the rooftops and vantage points on the routes of the main procession. Community volunteers along with Police officers performed checking and search duty of the participants on Youm e Aashur. Ladies Police officials as well as volunteers were also deputed at special checking cabins for body search of female participants. Teams of Dolphin and Mujahid Squad, Police Response Unit, ARF, Elite Force, Ababeel Squad and Police Stations ensured affective patrolling around ImamBargahs and mourning processions. All the activities of the Youm e Aashur at important places of the city including majalis and processions were continuously monitored at Control Rooms with the help of more than 700 CCTV cameras of Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) and District Government. Lahore Police officers and officials requested the participants of the programs of Youm e Aashur to wear masks and implement on precautionary SOPs in wake of impending threats of Delta Variant wave of Corona pandemic. Pillion riding was banned and Mobile phone services remained suspended in specific areas of the city. Police Aman Caravan led by CCPO Ghulam Mahmood Dogar was carried out on Youm e Aashur too which reached all five main mourning processions of the city to develop effective coordination with local community leaders, organizers and license holders of the processions as well as to create a sense of security among the citizens. Provincial Minister Industries Mian Aslam Iqbal specially participated in the Aman Caravan. Ghulam Mahmood Dogar along with Punjab Minister Industries, Commissioner Lahore Capt(R) Muhammad Usman and participants of Aman Caravan also visited Control Room at Deputy Commissioner office where Aman Caravan was briefed about the monitoring mechanism of all the programs of Youm e Aashur. Commander Lahore Police Ghulam Mahmood Dogar leading ‘Aman Caravan’ visited different areas of the city including Nisar Haveli, Mohalla Shiyan Mochi Gate, Pani Wala Talab, Rang Mahal, Shah Alam Market, Bhatti, Karbala Gamay Shah, Jamia tul Muntazir, 145-A Model Town, Imam Bargah Qasar-e-Batool Iqbal Town, Imambargah Zaidi House Shah Jamal, Imambargahs Aiwan e Zainab and Aiwan e Haider Thokar Niaz Baig Lahore to review the security arrangements made by Lahore Police. Minister Industries Mian Aslam Iqbal, Commissioner Lahore Capt(R) Muhammad Usman, members of Central Executive Peace Committee( CEPC), divisional SsP and other Police officers accompanied him. CCPO Lahore directed the deputed Police officers and officials to remain high alert at their duty spots and also wear masks adopting Corona SOPs. Ghulam Mahmood Dogar along with DIG Operations Sajid Kiani, CTO Muntazir Mehdi and SSP Operations also monitored the main Shabih e Zuljihah procession of Youm e Aashur from the Metro Bus flyover at Karbala Gamay Shah till its ending. Ghulam Mahmood Dogar along with members of CEPC met with the community leaders, processions and majalis organizers as well as license holders and assured them provision of foolproof security to the participants of all the programs of Youm e Aashur. The community leaders and organizers of Youm e Aashur programs expressed their complete satisfaction over the security arrangements made by Lahore Police. They expressed their gratitude with CCPO Ghulam Mahmood Dogar for his personal interest and dedication to ensure and provide foolproof security to all the Imambargahs, majalis and processions of the city throughout the Aashura e Muharram. Commander Lahore Police Ghulam Mahmood Dogar appreciated the overall performance of all units of Lahore Police including DIG Operations Lahore and CTO Lahore to ensure best security as well as traffic arrangements. He also commended the valuable role of Ulema e Karam, members of CEPC as well as the cooperation and reasonable behavior of the citizens to promote interfaith harmony and make Aashura e Muharram peaceful.
