11 killed after floods wreak havoc in Kathmandu, Nepal #Baaghi

Lahore, 18th June: Floods have wreaked havoc in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, killing 11 people, while, 25 others are missing.

According to the International News Agency, the bodies of three foreign workers, one from India and two from China, have been recovered from a flood in the northwestern part of Kathmandu. The workers were working on a project for a Chinese company.

A statement from the Interior Ministry said that 25 people were feared to have been swept away in the floods in two districts of Kathmandu, none of whom have been identified. Thousands have been evacuated.

The meteorological department has forecast two more days of rains in the hilly areas. Safety measures have been taken to strengthen the embankments of the dams, while people are being evacuated from mountainous areas to avoid landslides.

It should be noted that during the monsoon season in Nepal, heavy rains in the mountainous areas wreak havoc and more than 200 people die every year.
