130 Megawatt electricity production stalls, K-Electric shuts one unit of Bin Qasim power plant: Report

KARACHI, July 14 (Online): Amid severe load shedding one unit of Bin Qasim power plant has been shut by K-Electric stalling 130 megawatt power production.

The loadshedding hours have also been enhanced in the city adding to miseries of the citizens. Several areas already under the sway of 6 to 8 hours load shedding.  The warmer season has led to scale up the electricity demand upto 3100 megawatt narrowing the demand supply gap to 250 megawatt.

Sarjani town, Baldia town,Liaqat Abad, Landhi, Korangi and Layari are the worst hit areas in the prolonged and unannounced load shedding.  The schedule of announced load shedding has been placed on the website of K-Electric. Furnace oil supply to K-Electric will soon be resumed.
