The IPL 2026 Auction is just around the corner, and the excitement is already building as 1,390 players had registered for the mega event. However, the IPL Governing Council has shortlisted only 350 players, including seven promising cricketers from Jammu & Kashmir.
All seven players have a base price of ₹30 Lakh, making them affordable yet exciting options for IPL franchises looking to discover new talent.
Among the J&K players, Aquib Nabi has emerged as one of the most talked-about prospects. Known for his ability to contribute with both bat and ball, Nabi had a sensational run in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2025, where he played key roles in Jammu & Kashmir’s matches.
Batting highlights: Nabi consistently delivered impactful innings under pressure, scoring quick runs and stabilizing the middle order when the team needed him most.
Bowling prowess: With his sharp seam movement and disciplined line, he troubled some of the best T20 batters in the country, picking up crucial wickets.
His performances in SMAT have made him a hot property in the IPL auction, and many teams are likely to keep a close eye on him during the bidding process.
