1st Hum Women Leaders Award 2020

Lahore, 3rd July: HUM TV in Pakistan is celebrating the first-ever Hum Women Leaders Award being telecasted on Hum’s YouTube Channel today.

According to a report by Baaghi TV, Hum TV is showing the Women Leaders Award to celebrate the success and accomplishments of women around the world.

The ceremony which took place a while back honored women who have broken barriers in their field and empowered others.

The award is Hum Network Limited’s initiative to recognize and honor the contribution and achievements of iconic women from Pakistan and around the world who are change-makers in their respective fields and a symbol and source of hope, courage, determination, and inspiration for women across the globe.

In celebrating living legends, the organizers also remembered those who are no longer with us from Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah to Benazir Bhutto, from Fatima Surayya Bajia to Bano Qudsia and so many more including Professor Anita Ghulam Ali, Dr. Ruth Pfau, Asma Jahangir, and young Arfa Karim.

Mountaineer Samina Baig, an attorney Jalila Haider belonging to the Hazara community, a survivor of 23 stabbing attacks Khadija Siddiqui, social scientist Fouzia Saeed, versatile actor Bushra Ansari, executive director of JMPC Dr. Seemin Jamali, senior newspaper columnist Zubeida Mustafa, economist Shamshad Akhtar and Pakistan’s former ambassador to the UN Maleeha Lodhi all came up to the stage to receive their awards from other exceptional women.

The iconic artists from the Pakistan showbiz industry who presented the awards to the deserving women were no less accomplished in their fields. The list includes Hina Bayat, Sania Saeed, Zeba Bakhtiar, and Javed Sheikh, designer Bunto Kazmi, beautician Musarrat Misbah, president of Hum Sultana Siddiqui and the CEO Duraid Qureshi while Meera Sethi and Sanam Saeed moderated the evening.

As per media sources, the Award ceremony which was held on the 19th Feb 2020 in Governor House Karachi was graced by the presence of the President of Pakistan Mr. Arif Alvi, and the First lady, Samina Alvi.

The Award ceremony was shown on Hum TV on the 27th of June and will now be broadcasted on Hum’s YouTube Channel on the 3rd of July.
