Lahore, 22nd August: A stampede at Kabul airport killed 7 Afghan civilians and several others were injured as Taliban fighters fired in the air to drive away the chaos created by people.

The British military confirmed the news saying that seven Afghans have been killed in chaos as they tried to force their way into Kabul airport desperate to get onto any flight out of the country.

According to the Associated Press (AP), the incident shows that there is still a threat to those who want to flee the Taliban’s take over of Afghanistan.

Five Killed at Kabul Airport After Chaos and Panic Witnessed

According to the report, those killed in the incident suffered serious injuries during the chaos. These were people who wanted to go abroad and the Taliban fired in the air to prevent them from entering the airport.

“The situation on the ground is still challenging, but we are doing our best to improve the situation,” the British Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

It is believed that after the Taliban took control of Kabul on Sunday last week, thousands of Afghans reached the runway at the airport on Monday wanting to go abroad, after which a US helicopter warned people to leave the runway.

Meanwhile, several Afghans were hanging from an American cargo plane as it tried to board, and some fell and died after the plane took off.
