The 74th Independence Day of Pakistan was observed in patriotic zeal and spirit at the Pakistan High Commission, New Delhi, today.

Keeping in view the corona pandemic (all necessary SOPs were observed) a short and simple ceremony with a limited participation was held.

The Pakistan’s flag was raised by Acting High Commissioner Syed Haider Shah at an elegant and impressive flag-hoisting ceremony held on the Chancery’s lawns.

Minister Political, Mr. Aftab Hasan Khan, read out the messages of the President and the Prime Minister of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Acting High Commissioner Syed Haider Shah in his remarks extended warm felicitations on Independence Day and lauded the zeal with which the broader Pakistan High Commission family participated in the event.

Recalling the freedom struggle, the Acting High Commissioner said the sacred day of 14th August 1947 dawned primarily due to the unflinching resolve, unprecedented struggle, and countless sacrifices of our forefather. The Acting High Commissioner, therefore, underlined the need to remember the Quaid’s vision of a democratic, modern, moderate, economically-strong, Islamic welfare state. He stressed the importance of each successive generation to contribute its own part with honesty towards the realization of the Quaid’s vision.
