ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will today decide on the release of election results in NA-75 constituency of Daska tehsil of Sialkot.
The by-election case is set to be heard by a five-member commission headed by the Chief Election Commissioner. Notice was issued to PML-N candidate Noshin Iftikhar in Daska.

In NA-75 Daska, there was a contest between PML-N candidate Noshin Iftikhar and PTI’s Ali Asjad.
According to unofficial and unconfirmed results, PML-N’s Syeda Noshin Iftikhar has the upper hand over PTI candidate Ali Asjad Khan, and the results of 23 polling stations in the constituency are yet to come.
Following allegations of fraud by the PML-N and the ‘disappearance’ of ’23 presiding officers’ for several hours, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) said in a statement that the results of 20 polling stations were in doubt. It is not possible to release an unconfirmed result.

According to the ECP, Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja kept trying to contact IG Punjab, Commissioner Gujranwala and DC Gujranwala as soon as the matter was reported.
The statement said that the Chief Secretary Punjab was contacted at 3 pm and assured that the missing officers and polling bags would be traced but they could not be contacted again for several hours. Afterwards, at about six o’clock in the morning, the presiding officers arrived with polling bags.
The ECP said that action would be taken against the concerned officers in case of negligence on the part of the administration and alteration in the polling material.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Vice President Maryam Nawaz had demanded re-election, alleging rigging in NA-75.
Maryam Nawaz said that it was alleged that the presiding officer was abducted and the results were changed at 20 polling stations. According to the PML-N leader, Atta Tarar saw the presiding officer running away with a bag of votes.
Maryam Nawaz alleged that government officials were stamping. After picking up the bags, he picked up the staff of the Election Commission.
