Lahore, 15th July: District authorities impose a ban on tourism in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) for ten days due to a rise in coronavirus cases.

The decision to ban the tourist activity in AJK comes on Thursday after seeing a rise in COVID-19 cases across the country

According to details, the ban will continue from July 19 to July 29, hence the hotel bookings have been canceled.

Meanwhile, Faisal Sultan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Health Services has said that only vaccinated people will be allowed to visit tourist spots.

Therefore, vaccination against the virus became mandatory across the country after observing the positivity rate of COVID-19 cases increasing day by day.

According to the latest tally, in the last 24 hours, Pakistan reported 47 deaths, raising the death toll to 22,689.

As per data collected from NCOC, the number of positive cases has surged to 981,392 after 2,545 people tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Data also revealed that Punjab is the worst-hit province in terms of fatalities followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the latest tally, there are 22,689 coronavirus cases in Punjab while, 10,852 people lost their lives in the province.

So far, 351,006 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh with 4,377 individuals lost their lives to the deadly virus.

Furthermore, there are 139,960 cases reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 4,377 deaths recorded so far.

Meanwhile, there are 84,083 cases recorded in Islamabad, 28,588 in Balochistan, 21,481 in Azad Kashmir and 7,163 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

As per the last data, 787 deaths have been recorded in Islamabad, 596 in Azad Kashmir, 317 in Balochistan, and 113 in GB.
