Railway officials reduced fares on Eid

LAHORE: Railway authorities have reduced freight fares by 5 to 25 per cent.

According to details, railway sources said that freight fares have been reduced by 5 to 25 per cent. The reduction in freight fares will be applicable from July 20 to 22. Railway officials have decided to facilitate the business community during the Eid holidays.

Sources said that it has been decided to reduce the fares of coal trains by 5%, fares of container trains by 10%, while fares of general cargo by 25%.

It may be mentioned that for the convenience of the passengers on the occasion of Eid, the Railway Department has directed the concerned administration to ensure the timely arrival and departure of trains on the three days of Eid, and to take care of the passengers in every case.

Railway officials have also urged passengers and staff to strictly adhere to the Corona SOPs, noting that special Eid trains are also being run for passengers on the occasion of Eid.
